The mission of the Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum is to honor and preserve the heritage of the amphibious soldiers of WWII that trained in Carrabelle and Franklin County, Florida. You can safeguard their legacy and honor them by getting involved today. There are many ways you can support the mission of the CGJ WWII Museum. All contributions to the museum are tax-deductible.
The Camp Gordon Johnston Museum recently completed a Capital Expansion project that created a permanent museum facility and a motor pool style vehicle display building. These facilities provide special exhibit, collections and conservation space as well as safely secure and display the museum’s three vintage military vehicles plus our one-half scale Higgins Boat. This helps to ensure the proper respect is given to the stories and artifacts of the brave service members who trained here. These buildings are steel structures constructed above the flood zone, yet on the same land where practice beach landings occurred. This provides a more protective environment for artifacts while being at a more appropriate site for our mission and more accessible on US Highway 98. It is through your generosity that this facility became a reality, and it will be through your generosity that it will continue to thrive for generations to come. We rely on your direct support to continue preserving the legacy of the “Amphibious Soldiers” of WWII. Please donate today to say thank you to them for their great service and sacrifice.
While work on the museum structures are completed, the interior still needs much extensive work to properly display these historical items and to tell these soldiers’ stories of courage and valor. It is through your generosity that this facility became a reality, and it will be through your generosity that it will continue to thrive for generations to come. We rely on your direct support to continue preserving the legacy of the U. S. Army “Amphibious Soldiers” of WWII. Please donate today to say thank you to them for their great service and sacrifice and allow us to educate future generations so their accomplishments are never forgotten.
